The very high cost of taking a car on holiday to Ireland

You can take a one way crossing from Wales to Ireland over the end of May bank holiday for around £140 or use the same company to go from Ireland to France for €99 that is £87. When will these ferry companies bring down their prices to encourage more visitors from the UK to be able to afford visiting Ireland?
